The last shelter worked
Saturday
The best flights in Western Switzerland actually took place in the Fiesch area.
David Steiner managed to complete a 100+ km triangle on an almost classic route, working hard throughout his 5h45 flight, while Christoph Furman flew a nice 84 km triangle, optimizing the potential of the Goms. 🪂
Few other nice flight has been done from this area.
The surprise come from the Jura, wheer Fabian Umbricht flew an amazing 53 km triangle from the Hasenmatt
Sunday
The weather changed significantly between my forecast on Friday morning and the reality of the day, which was really good news for XC pilots!
Stefan Ruider managed to fly the classic 100+ km triangle from Fiesch, and Noah Kiener flew an amazing 94 km flight from the Niesen.
This summer looks like it will really never end in Switzerland. Usually, at this time of year, pilots head south, to places like St André, to find the last good thermals, but this year, it looks like it could work until Christmas! 🪂
