The Last Shelter
This weekend, Switzerland will remain under the influence of a weak and relatively inactive moist air mass.
Saturday
Fiesch will likely be the last reliable option for anyone hoping to fly more than just a few kilometres. An out-and-return flight to Grimsel Pass appears achievable, and the strongest pilots may even manage something more ambitious. However, keep a close eye on the arrival of the moist air mass, as conditions could rapidly become unpleasant if you are still airborne when it moves in. The same caution applies if you choose to launch from one of the side valleys, such as Zinal or Zermatt.
The Niesen ridge could also provide a viable alternative, although the summit is likely to remain shrouded in cloud for much of the day.
Sunday
Sunday looks even less promising. Once again, only the Goms region and the deepest Valais valleys may offer the possibility of achieving anything more than a very local flight.
Honestly, this looks more like a weekend to enjoy time with your family and friends than to listen to the constant beeping of your vario. 😉

Thanks for your excellent work.
Just a small remark: the date is wrong in the title: "XC forecast for 03-04 september 2026".
I think you wanted to write october.
