Rain, wind and hope

Saturday

Western Switzerland will be under the influence of a disturbance bringing rain and wind.

In short, it's the perfect day to catch up on the latest issues of Cross Country Magazine or repack your reserve parachute in the comfort of your home, with a cup of tea in hand.

You can also take the opportunity to browse some of the flight reports published on this website :-)

Sunday

High pressure conditions will gradually establish themselves over the region throughout the day and are expected to remain in place during the coming days.

At this stage, residual moisture still appears too high to expect any real cross-country potential on Sunday, although further drying before then cannot be ruled out.

Winds should steadily ease, starting from the western part of the country. With a bit of luck, a weather window may open up, allowing for some short flights. For those considering flying, it will be worth keeping a close eye on forecast updates. The classic "Lake Geneva Balcony" route from Salève may become a realistic option.

Pleasant local flights should also be possible from some west-facing sites in the Jura.

Valais, on the other hand, will probably remain difficult to fly. However, a positive surprise cannot be completely ruled out.
