Fiesch worked again

Saturday

As forecast, the only region in Western Switzerland where it was possible to fly more than 50 km this weekend was the Valais, more specifically the Fiesch area. Some pilots achieved slightly better flights further east and in Ticino, but those regions lie outside my area of expertise.

In Fiesch, it was once again Philippe Aeschbach who posted the best flight, with "only" a 72 km triangle, exploring part of the massif just west of the Grimsel Pass. Dorian Copt flew the classic Goms out-and-return route and completed a 64 km green triangle.

Regardless of the season and the conditions, the best pilots remain the best. That's exactly how you recognize them.

Sunday

The longest flight in terms of distance this weekend was flown by Manuela Meier in the Interlaken area, covering around 7 km, probably a little more as her vario experienced a problem.

It was hardly possible to fly cross-country this Sunday. As Manuela herself put it, she was at least able to enjoy touching the clouds.
