Weekend forecast for August 29-30, 2026 :
One word: Wind!
SATURDAY
The westerly flow will most likely be too strong for most Alpine sites. There may still be a few opportunities in some sheltered Jura locations, but conditions will be quite site-dependent.
SUNDAY
The westerly wind remains present aloft but should be lighter near the surface. Unless you are a very experienced pilot with solid Alpine flying experience, I would personally avoid Wallis/Valais.
That said, there should be opportunities for pleasant local flights in the Pre-Alps and the Jura. If conditions evolve as currently forecast, Weissenstein could offer some interesting possibilities, perhaps even something along these lines, like last year:

If you're in the region this weekend, don't forget that the Graitricks event in Moutier is also worth a visit, whether you're flying or simply enjoying the atmosphere.
